Sometimes you just try to save some time and everything goes against you. I move to Edinburgh some time ago and promised that I will visit my friends in London ( mostly north London). I lived there 10 years and know bits and pieces. Unfortunately today wasn’t my lucky day. I just should stay on the cheapest and the most common and the easiest way to travel to London and outside to north parts.
My friend live 25-30 ride to Luton airport. That’s the nerest airport to the north, unfortunately I get flight to stanested airport the most common for Ryanair.
By the way I am really enjoying now traveling with Ryanair. It travel with them around 9 years and from really restrict airlines they become one of nice one. Maybe it’s just now hehee. Hopefully for good… Cross fingers!!! In the past they check everything how big is your hand luggage, how much it weight. You couldn’t take any hand bag as well not to mention the bag from shops. Everything needed to be in one bag and don’t you dare to cross 10kg of weight!!-if you did you paid like £5 or more per kg extra!!or they put your luggage into the loft of the plane and charge you like £50 for it. So now it’s improving. The hand luggage is bigger and you can have hand bag or for the guys the bag from shopping so alcohol and cigarettes hehehe
But returning to the topic, because I lost myself in Ryanair. I thought that if I will come by coach to luton from stanested it will be closer to Borehamwood- No NoNo. I drive almost 2h- late, traffics spend £16 for coach and then I needed spend more time and more money. Bus to train station £2,10 and then train to Borehamwood £11. All together I spend already £29 and still bus to my friend house will be like £1,50 so altogether £30 or more and I tried save some money and more importantly time and I didn’t. If you travel to stanested airport stick to coach to London. South of London Waterloo , central Victoria and north Golders Green tube station. From this places you can take tube (metro) or buses. I would take train (10min) to Edgware from Golders Green (black line- northern line) here people go by colours it’s just easier. Edgware is zone 5 more expensive ticket so leave one before and I have after small walk bus stop with bus to Borehamwood. All together coach £12, tube £2.50, bus £1,50 altogether £16 not £30!!! some savings 🙄😖🙄😖🙄 nothing for coffe on days trips in London! Coach takes 1h, tube 10-14min, bus depends on traffic roughly 30-45min so save the time and money.
Unfortunately I wanted save time and money like I mention and it didn’t work. The only plus of it is that it’s supposedly be a rainy weather and it’s not. It’s nice and warm and from cold and wet Scotland it’s a big difference. The fist thought why did I move out of here except it was too expensive. The weather at leat is warmer heheh
London here I come…..
