I was really busy during the Easter. I worked I don’t celebrate that much, but this year I decide to make for myself really cheap and good baked pate. You can use many variations of meat for making it.
I trying to show here that making delicious meals do t have to be expensive.
For the bake pate I used.
0,5 kg of ox hearts
0.5 kg of ox liver
0,5 kg of cooking bacon ( I decide to use really big peaces of, you can use any type of meat)
1 carrot
1 parsnip
1 onion
1 bunch of spring onion
0,5 cup of lard
2 dry buns
Pepper, sage, marjoram, mix herb, sweet paprika. 1 bay leaf, 1 allspice
I cooked ox hearts. When you start to cooked them I replace the water in then 3 times. Add cooking bacon- cook for at least half a hour. Add the bay leaf and allspice. And the carrot and parsnip. I cooked all for around 2-3 hours until all the meat was really tender.
When all was cooked I leave for cooling and in the meanwhile I fry the onion with spring onion and ox liver. ( remember advice don’t put salt on any type of liver before cooking or frying, salted liver become really hard)
I place it to cool as well. I place the dry buns in water and wait for them to soak.
I blend all the cooked meat with onion, veggies and liver as well as soak bans. If you don’t have it you can mince it in mincing machine 2 times.
I mix all the blended meat veggies and lives. Add spices. The spices depend on the type you like and prefer. As you can see I didn’t use salt. Why? Easy to answer I used baked bacon. And unfortunately as good as the meat is it is really salty. So whenever I use bacon in my recipes I rarely use salt. I add 0,5 cup of lard, it should have some fat in it, because when it bake it may dry too much. I place the mix in the bread form cover with bacon. It should help to moisture the pate from outside. I bake it for 45 minutes in 180 degree
When the top was crispy and baked it was ready. And I really enjoy it. Xx
I mix it with spices and add lard
I place bacon in the bread baking trays and add mixture of pate on top
I baked it for 45 minutes in 180 degree
and with freshly baked white bread it was delicious,. :-))))))
